When you drag a pawn to the row where it promotes even if the move is not legal the promotion dialog pops up for example my pawn was on e7 I can drag it to h8 and get the promotion screen and when I select a piece to promote to it just closes.

@KrixxKopher thanks for posting the issue.
For a player it's indeed not clear that it was an illegal move attempt, because the dialog was shown as if it was a possible move.
Direct feedback regarding illegal moves is not present at the moment.
It's on my list.
