For "CouchDB:TDG" Readers with "require" error

I've found that the 0.10 branch of sofa seems to work "as written" in the TDG 1st edition, at least with the 0.10.0 CouchDB version I'm using on Ubuntu Lucid.

I wasn't able to find any help with this error in online searches, other than "you should upgrade"... hoping this will help the next person who comes searching.
