Using Solarized as the day/night theme

I've been using solarized as my colorscheme for day and night (light and dark accordingly). Today I've noticed that werewolf doesn't apply the solarized dark theme for the night (by setting background to dark). Is there any way to achieve that?

Currently, no.

Werewolf barely differentiates between day and night schemes. It really just compares two colorscheme lists and toggles between them. When it actually switches schemes, it doesn't know which way the switch is going.

Still, I tried implementing this by making Werewolf toggle between light and dark whenever it changes the colorscheme (around line 26). That looked like this:

    set background=dark

execute "colorscheme " . a:switch[i]

But it didn't work. I also tried putting the colorscheme switch in front of the background color check, but had similar issues. If you (or anyone else) have any ideas, I'd love to hear them.

I'm leaving this issue open because I'd like to fix it, but I simply don't know how to do so without doing a major overhaul of the code.

As a workaround, you can do one of the following:

1. Create two solarized colorschemes. Put set background=dark at the top of one and set background=light at the top of the other. Name them accordingly, and set them up as separate colorschemes in Werewolf.
2. Add to your local Werewolf installation set background=light and set background=dark after lines 16 and 18. I don't want to do this because it won't switch if Werewolf is triggered manually and it will happen whether the colorscheme actually changes or not. In my mind, this is far from an ideal solution.
3. Create a ColorScheme autocmd and toggle it yourself in vimrc.

Some forks of these repo have added code to solve this. But since I was only using solarized and having issues I ended up just using vimscript that I found here: https://medium.com/@bentanweihao/switch-between-solarized-light-dark-in-vim-auto-magically-18ed5a8ff88f
