[Tutorial]: CM7.3 View Access restrictions #65

Description

@HermanPeeren

Type: Tutorial.

Summary

In Joomla you can restrict viewing content to specific groups. In this tutorial we show you how that works. These "View Access Levels" work on articles, categories and menu items, so here again we see the same hierarchy as in the previous articles. If you restrict the view access for an article, but not for the menu item showing that article, you'll get an error if you select the menu item.

In this tutorial we show how to use the existing View Access Levels (not: how to create custom ones; that will be in site building and site maintenance guides).

Special attention: check the note at the end of the reference article about adding a Read More to restrict article access.
