Not sending DIN MIDI - Do I understand the procedure?

Hi,
This is using the latest version and the first version for me - I'm not getting any MIDI out of the LPP.

If I understand this correctly, I just power up then play the pads in Note mode which should send MIDI out of the DIN port on channel one? No setup is needed if I am not connected to USB?

The default is actually to send over USB. You can change it in sequencer setup (press device button, then the setup button). Documented here https://github.com/jrcurtis/subsequencely/wiki/Sequencer-setup.

It probably makes sense to switch the default to DIN. I think I made it USB just because during development I was mostly testing over USB. Now that saving is supported, though, you can make it default to whichever you want.

Still no MIDI DIN out. I power the unit on. Hit Session, hit Setup, hit lowest left pad to change it from green to red. Go to Note mode and nothing is sent over MIDI.

The thing is, I go back to Session setup and that pad, that I turned red is now back to green.

The usb/din settings are under the sequencer mode, which is assigned to the "Device" button, not the "Session" button. The session setup lower left box is the "clear save data" box.

This raises a good point, though, that the settings interface is very hard to get a handle on, and not well organized. Eventually I started placing settings on different screens just so they wouldn't be crammed together in one place, instead of really thinking about where they should logically be. I've thought about having a menu system where labels would scroll across the screen like how it says "updating" when you load new firmware, but I'm not sure of the best way to handle it. It's definitely an item for improvement.

In my opinion, the settings are actually quite good! However, I was confused by this also. I had to come here to find the answer out. In my opinion, this setting should also be in the "Note" setup/settings page. If I get a spare bit of time here sometime soon I'll try to submit a PR.
