Question about stacked bar charts

Hi! Thank you for sharing your work with everyone in this document! I hope it is ok to ask in this way... I am trying to follow your instructions to create a stacked bar chart as in section 19.4. I notice that you say the first thing that needs to be done is to tidy the data, and you show the end result, but it isn't clear to me how to get the data in this format. Do you have any advice about how to do this or code you are able to share? Thank you so much!!

The most up-to-date tidyverse method for tidying data is with tidyr::pivot_longer() -- more info here: https://tidyr.tidyverse.org/articles/pivot.html
