Copy Tree Structure

Hello,

Some extensions like Sidebery or TreeStyleTabs overload the tab bar with a tree structure.
Do you think it would be possible to make CopyTabTitleUrl copy this structure (e.g. as indented urls or custom formats) when multiple tabs are selected?

I believe it is possible.

The tree structure of tabs is a way to visualize the parent-child relationship of tabs. It is not an intrinsic feature of the extension, but part of the browser functionality. Therefore, I believe it is possible to achieve this by reflecting the parent-child relationship of tabs in the content of the copy.

If the tree structure of tabs uses an intrinsic feature of an external extension, it can be handled if the target extension provides an API for another extension. However, CopyTabTitleUrl does not plan to provide functionality to work with external extensions. This is because it would make extensions very complex.

The following settings can be used to visualize the parent-child relationship in a simplified manner.

Enable: Use Extended Mode
Enable: Use Extended Edit Mode
Enable: Enable programmable format
format: ${tabId}: ${tabOpenerTabId}: ${url}

By displaying the tab ID and parent tab ID, the parent-child relationship between tabs can be displayed.
I believe this could be further extended to force child tabs to be placed immediately after their parent tabs and to space-indent the child tabs to provide the desired functionality.
However, I believe that the above expression is the limit of the functionality currently provided.

Considering implementation, the following two functions are required.

• “Function to force child tabs to be placed immediately after their parent tabs” (tab reordering function)
  • Possible to rely on external extensions for implementation
  • Depending on the reordering process, the tab order may not be as intended (not really want to implement).
• “Function to output tabs and spaces for tab hierarchy.”
  • e.g., ${tabHierarchy}: ${url}
  • Need to consider how to express: tab, 2 half-width spaces, 4 half-width spaces.
  • This function alone does not guarantee the parent-child relationship of the preceding and following lines.

However, there are no plans to implement this at this time. However, I find it interesting as an idea.
