Have you run these _R_CHECK_LENGTH_1_CONDITION_=package:_R_CHECK_PACKAGE_NAME_,abort,verbose checks since the last run back in October 2018?
I'd be curious to see if things have improved. More importantly, do you think there's hope for making _R_CHECK_LENGTH_1_CONDITION_=true the default in the upcoming R 4.1.0 (April 2021)?
