What's the best equivalent to gulp-if?

What is the best way to program conditionals into pipes, a la gulp-if? Sometimes it's nice to create a single task that sends .html and .js files different directions, for example.

var beautify = require('gulp-beautify');

gulp.task('task', function() {
  gulp.src('./src/*.js')
    .pipe(gulpif(condition, uglify(), beautify()))
    .pipe(gulp.dest('./dist/'));
});

If condition returns true, uglify else beautify, then send everything to the dist folder

You can do the trick like so create the check-var-true.js witch would return an exit code 0 for true and 1 for false value by process.exit(code). Then call node ./check-var-true.js %CONDITION_VAR% && <command for true action> || <commands for false action>.
In bat file the equavalent code
