Subject: Request to Add Missing Long Vowel Characters (ō, ē) for Cham Thrah Transcription in SLP1_roman Keyboard

Dear SLP1_roman Development Team,

My name is A, and I am a researcher and user of Indic–derived scripts, particularly the Cham Thrah / Cam Thrah script of the Cham people in Vietnam.
I have been using the SLP1_roman keyboard layout to support scholarly transcription and digital processing of Cham inscriptions and texts.

I would like to respectfully bring to your attention that the current SLP1_roman keyboard lacks two important long-vowel characters that are essential for accurate romanization of Cham Thrah according to the extended IAST system:

ē — long “e”

ō — long “o”

Both characters are phonemically distinct in Cham Thrah and are required for accurate academic transcription, linguistic annotation, and digital humanities work. Their absence causes difficulties in inputting standardized Cham text and introduces inconsistencies in transliteration workflows.

I kindly request your team to consider adding ē and ō to the SLP1_roman keyboard in a future update.
Suggested key mappings (for example):

e + - → ē

o + - → ō

We deeply appreciate your work in providing a high-quality keyboard for Indic linguistic research. Adding these two long vowels will greatly benefit users working not only on Cham Thrah but also on comparative Austronesian–Indic studies.
