It is not possible to close the book with the inventory key (E by default), only with ESC or with the button in the book (edit: the main screen doesn't have a close button so this only apply to sub categories), whilst the later is useful the former requires to reach an inconvenient key.

when you press the inv button and whilst not searching the book should close
