Here's the card with the setting Headers and Footers: preview mode enabled.

I tested it out creating new cards with settings enabled and disabled and figured out it's the Headers and Footers: preview mode

I also pulled up a sandbox vault and tried it out with only the Typing plugin installed. Still had the issue.

Would it be possible to selectively apply or not apply based on file type, Prefix, Suffix, or some variation of sorting?

Hi, thank you for the report.

I currently understand the issue as that under certain circumstances when you add a typed note as a card on canvas, it is rendered lower when header is specified in its type and the setting for rendering marginals in preview mode is on. Although, I need a bit more details: ideally you could provide a minimal type definition and a minimal note content such that when the note is under the specified type, it is rendered differently from when it isn't. Or is it the case even without any header specified in type? If it is so, I would ask you to navigate to <div class="typing-header" /> in developer tools and show its styles, as I haven't been able to reproduce it.

Sorry I never saw the notification for this. If you're still interested I'll test if I can reproduce this again.

Yeah everything was at default settings from the sandbox vault when I tested I'm sure.
Let me know and if you need any extra info you can think of now as well.
