Google is shutting down their Google+ APIs as mentioned here.

This repo is using the /me Google+ API in custom-google.js please update as necessary.

Seems like whats currently in master doesn't fully work and it does not appear to be what is published to your npm for this module. I think you will need to make some tweaks but the changes i made should still be correct!
