Bug: Can‘t open .fountain document from Google Drive on iOS

Hi there, whenever I try to open a document from Google Drive on my iPhone it‘s not selectable. Creating one works fine but that then also can‘t be opened. Works fine from iCloud drive but copying files around is a bit tedious. Any idea why that is?

Unfortunately this is not a bug in Beat, but in Google Drive for iOS. For some inexplicable reason, Google Drive no longer supports file type identifiers in iOS 26. Me and other iOS developers have been bombarding them with bug reports, but it looks like they won't do anything about it.

I have half-implemented a duct-tape fix circumventing this limitation, but it still requires some testing. I hope I can get it out next week.

Awesome, with further testig I saw that the filetype wasn't coming through from Google and wrote them as well.
