Is there a way to make the multi-level link work?

When I try to Linked more than two (2) Custom Fields, MantisBT prompts this error:

APPLICATION ERROR #plugin_LinkedCustomFields_error_already_linked

The target field is already linked to another custom field. Multi-level linking is not supported.
Please use the "Back" button in your web browser to return to the previous page. There you can correct whatever problems were identified in this error or select another action. You can also click an option from the menu bar to go directly to a new section.

What I need is when I select a value in Custom Field 1, the available options in Custom Field 2 will be filtered based on the value chosen in Custom Field 1. After I select a value in Custom Field 2, the available options in Custom Field 3 will be filtered based on the value chosen in Custom Field 2.

If you link Custom Field 2 to Custom Field 3 and then link CF 1 to CF 2 you get the error.

If the fields are unlinked and you link CF 1 to CF 2 first and then link CF 2 to CF 3 there is no error and multi-level linking works. However in this case, if you edit the linking between CF 1 and CF 2 the error happens.
