Generate <*.hic> file using a parallel option?

NOOB question: How do I parallelize the generation of the hic file? It's been running for many days on one thread (??)

Been running the convert script for more that three weeks on a large node and the <*.hic> file is now at about 10 GB. Is there anyway to determine the total time and/or progress of the convert script?
