This would allow people to give each tang managed host/disk a separate key set that could be managed independently without running multiple servers. To make it even more useful: touch an empty off file in the directory would return 404 for that host, until the file is removed.

Conceptually simple: just appending the sanitized/hashed value of the Host header to the configured path should do it?

In reality, you'd need to modify tangy-lib and plumb through the --vhost (default: false) option. Still fairly straightforward?

BTW, any plan to write a minimalist rust tang client to just do clevis luks bind tang and friends without the whole clevis kitchen sink (bash, curl...)?

I will have a bit of a think on this - it is plausible but I would need to look in to the web framework to understand how that handles host headers. There is also a bit around usability with the directory naming etc.

The core tang functionality is implemented in https://github.com/martynp/tangy-lib - that is a very much "no kitchen sink" API.
