Feature request: mpl_get_parsim_t

It'd be handy for debugging if mpl.c contained a function allowing one to check the parsim_t applied to a given character. Would that be easy to implement?

Yes. Easy enough to do (and indeed, should exist). I can try to add it today if I get time.

The R wrapper wrapper won't be completely straightforward, because the return is an int (cast from an enum). Easy enough to write a little helper to return a string saying "fitch" or "wagner" or "ordered" etc. to R, though.
