Issues communicating with LinBPQ node

Hi there!

AWESOME piece of software here, I love the look and the feel of it.

I don't know if anyone else has experienced this problem, but mine keeps sending SABM frames although it's gotten back UA frames. The output looks a bit like this on the node side (for context, I'm testing it wired between the computer and node at the moment):

And then it keeps going between SABM-UA frames until it disconnects.

Is there a reason why it's doing this? I'm running the latest Direwolf release (v1.7) and my AGWPE is configured correctly. Any advice?

Glad to hear that you're enjoying Paracon!

Given that you mentioned both LinBPQ and Direwolf, I'm assuming that your setup looks like this:

Paracon  <-- AGWPE-1 -->  LinBPQ  <-- AGWPE-2 -->  Direwolf  <-- audio/ptt -->  radio

where AGWPE-1 is configured using AGWPORT= in your bpq32.cfg and AGWPE-2 is configured using a PORT section in your bpq32.cfg file, and that you're trying to connect to some other station on the air using Paracon.

The issue you're seeing appears to be a problem with LinBPQ. I see exactly the same thing, and I also see exactly the same thing if I use a different client, such as QtTermTCP (from the same author as LinBPQ) or converse, instead of Paracon. Note that the client is making a single connect request to LinBPQ, but then LinBPQ is sending repeated SABME frames.

Interestingly, if you connect to LinBPQ itself (by using SWITCH as the callsign to connect to), that works just fine. It's only when you try to connect out to a station on the air that this happens.

I am by no means an expert on LinBPQ, so I don't know if this is a mis-configuration in bpq32.cfg or an issue with LinBPQ itself. I can only say that it happens, for me, with any AGWPE client I try to use.
