Glad you're enjoying Paracon! Paracon does not currently support incoming connections, sorry. I'm guessing you're using Paracon together with Direwolf as your AGWPE server. What's happening is that Direwolf is accepting the incoming connection to your callsign before Paracon has an opportunity to see it or say anything about it. When Paracon does see it, and declines to accept it, it's too late, and your friend sees that the connection has been established. About the only thing I could, and probably should, do in this situation is have Paracon immediately disconnect. Your friend would then see a disconnect message right after the connect message, which is a bit rude, but it would at least let them know they don't have an open connection to you. Gory details: The AGWPE protocol requires that your callsign, as configured in Paracon, be registered with the server (e.g. Direwolf) before you can transmit anything. Unfortunately, the protocol also specifies that the same callsign should now be available for incoming connections. There isn't a way to say "I want to be able to open connections but not accept connection requests". This is why Direwolf is simply accepting the connection request before letting Paracon know about it. It would be nice if there was a way to configure the AGWPE server - Direwolf or other - for which, if any, callsigns to accept incoming connections from, but sadly there isn't. |

Hello!
First off, thank you so much for this piece of software! It's super fun and retains the "retrocomputing" vibes.
Is there a way to accept incoming connections? The other day and a friend establish eda connection with me for K2K chat while I had paracon running. On their end, it showed as having a connection, but nothing showed up in paracon at all: I was able to see the packets they were sending me in ardop and in the Unproto window, but as far as paracon was concerned, I wasn't connected with anyone: I was forced to send them packets in Unproto, which they didn't see as they were sending me packets via the connection with me established on their end.
Tips? Tricks?
Thanks!
