Sending messages in BBS

I opened issue#3 before I saw this discussion section.

I'm able to use Paracon to connect to a BBS.
When I try to send an email, the message body needs to end with CTRL-Z, but when I enter that in Paracon, it exits.
Is there a way to transmit the CTRL-Z to the BBS?

Curious, do you know what kind of BBS you're connecting to here that requires a Control-Z? That control sequence is commonly used by most Unix-based OSes like Linux, OSX, *BSD, so it's not clear if that can be escaped and sent over the RF connection. By chance, can you try again but terminate your message with the far more common in the packet radio world "/ex" (without the quotes) and see if that works?

There isn't currently any way of sending a Ctrl-Z character to the remote station. On Linux, Ctrl-Z in a terminal window is used to send an application into the background, and in a text editor, it's the Undo command. (Note that when you type Ctrl-Z in Paracon on Linux, it doesn't actually exit; it's still running, but in the background, and can be recovered by typing the fg command.) On Windows, Ctrl-Z is the Undo command also.

As @dranch noted, typing /ex (on a line by itself) is the most common way to end message entry with a BBS. The BBSs I've seen that allow Ctrl-Z for ending a message also allow /ex, so I'd definitely suggest trying that.

It's likely a Linux BBS, as the help page indicted to end the message body with CTRL-Z.
But indeed /ex is working as well, and I was successful in sending a message.
