Description
By “default means", I am referring to the built-in find(regex) or replace(all) commands.
It isn't uncommon to need to selectively modify only those sequences that contain/adjacent to a new line, or match a regex like \n{x,x} specifically.
Also, what personally pains me most, is the inability to spawn a new cursor from a selection containing a newline character(s). Assuming that it uses the same underlying mechanism, I think it belongs here as well.
