Impossible to find/replace newline characters by any default means?

Description

By “default means", I am referring to the built-in find(regex) or replace(all) commands.
It isn't uncommon to need to selectively modify only those sequences that contain/adjacent to a new line, or match a regex like \n{x,x} specifically.

Also, what personally pains me most, is the inability to spawn a new cursor from a selection containing a newline character(s). Assuming that it uses the same underlying mechanism, I think it belongs here as well.

Given that this issue has persisted for at least six years, is there any point in waiting for it to be fixed, or... will Micro remain forever a text editor that cannot edit text properly without third-party tools?
