serialosc not releasing devices on disconnect

just noticed this using arch (manjaro)

when serialoscd is running, unplug does not release the device and hangs the serialosc-device process which jumps to 100% cpu. on replug a new device (ie ttyACM1) is created and is assigned a new port. continuing to replug spawns new ACM devices and new ports, with locked serialosc-device processes.

on the arc serialoscd complains about libmonome read/write failure, other devices not.

confirmed this also is happening to FTDI based grids.

libmonome and serialosc built from source using waf, not seeing anything out of the ordinary but will test on another distro and also rewind to older versions to see when/where this was introduced.

i'm also running arch, unplugging works fine and the device processes are terminated correctly on latest main (both ftdi and cdc), no complaints with the arc.

do you have multiple instances of serialosc accessing the same device by any chance? are you running any of these processes under different users?

so just normal linux messing around for me now! :)

only one instance of serialoscd. as far as i can tell, serialoscd won't load a second time even if i try, it just fails and drops back to the command line.

this is a very fresh install of manjaro so it's a little bit disconcerting.

@tehn it's suspicious that new device nodes are spawned in /dev. you might be able to get more information by running serialosc-device directly as:

./serialosc-device /dev/ttyACM0

in normal case it would exit normally and print something like:

serialosc [m0819987]: connected, server running on port 17053
serialosc [m0819987]: disconnected, exiting

also, is there anything besides USB disconnect, device number xx in system logs (journalctl -f) when you unplug?

nothing unusual in jounrnalctl, and running serialosc-device directly just hangs on disconnect (^C quits fine thereafter).
