References file needs updating?

So I haven't used visual studio in a looong time and I have absolutely no experience with xml but after messing around with the project for a while it looks like the .csproj file has extremely outdated references to all the Nuget packages - so it doesn't compile if you download onto a new machine. This might be obvious to other people but it wasn't to me because I didn't know what a Nuget was two hours ago. :)
