phpunit pear packages don't seem to work with the php packages available on hardy

Just running into this now. We get a bunch of conflicts thrown during chef run involving the PEAR method while using a hardy base box. When I get a sec, I'll likely just add an attribute to choose the install_method (like in the php cookbook), and have a recipe for installing using apt-get (which seems to work fine).

Ok, it'd be nice to know why that fails tho. I've only tested the current one on lucid and OSX with php 5.3 and they work fine there. I'm fine with a package recipe.

Ah ok, it was on a coworkers compy. I've asked him to copy it in if he still has it up, but otherwise I'll post when I run into it myself (working on something else now).

I've closed it up and I'm rebuilding with my apt-get hack. Didn't save the window.

The apt-get fix does work, but not the best solution. It installs phpunit 3.0.6, which I assume would have been current as of Hardy.

It would be nice to get 3.5.x running, but it looks like the PHP version is too old. It is probably not worth the trouble of sorting out this issue on Hardy.
