Anisotropic DMI

Hello,

I am wondering how difficult it would be to implement an anisotropic DMI; I'm thinking about a cubic DMI that has different values of Dbulk along different directions. This is motivated by the fact that an anisotropic DMI can be important for stabilizing antiskyrmions.

Do you think something like this would be at all feasible?

It is definitely feasible. I would suggest that you give it a try. Send us a pull request if you obtain something useful. We might include it as an extension.

I agree with this issue. I think the anisotropic dmi is quite important. Recently the anti skyrmions have attracted a lot of attentions due to the susscess realizations in experiments. Thus, it should be interested and important if one can study this issue through simulations. By using OOMMF, we can introduc the anisotropic dmi, but it has very low efficiency. It would be a great help if you can improve this issue.

I am also in favour for adding anisotropic DMI, as we also were interested in looking into modelling anti skyrmions in our lab group. I will not be able to contribute until after September due to prior commitments, but we have honours students that could take advantage of that feature if it was made available.
