Document your impetus for lon or provide comparison to alternatives for differentiation?

I came across this project while looking at the documentation for lanzaboote and I was wondering, having used niv in the past and being aware of npins, what is the impetus for this project and what differentiates it from the alternatives that already exist?

I am aware it is inspired by niv and npins but I was wondering what motivations were behind its creation and what decisions went into it and why or how that is advantageous?

I care about this mostly from the perspective of having a point of comparison to decide what I, as a potential end user would use out of the existing solutions within the space.
