Following a discussion with @rainmanjam, we will investigate the possibility of and work toward porting WSplit to macOS.
Since, I assume, you have done some preliminary work on the subject, would it be possible to share with us the version which exposes your current blocker? You can most likely through a Pull Request into a secondary branch. Let it be a new branch named macos-port.
Along with the PR, if you could provide details of the error messages it gives, either through a transcript or a screenshot, that would be lovely.
