Quarto report synthesis 2-pager with automated content

At the SEFSC we are working on developing our Ecosystem Status Reports in Quarto using the NMFS open science Quarto book template. We successfully completed a Caribbean ESR.

As a next step, we want to synthesize the information in the report into a nice, flashy 2-pager. I could easily create one manually in a separate Quarto document, but I want to automate its creation as much as possible.

I am kind of copying the Northeast region, the way they've done their snapshot Ecosystem and Socioeconomic Profiles.

Things I am thinking through:

• How do I pull recent trends from all the indicators and pop them all into a table (in a pretty, organized way). I am currently working on functions that pull specific data from a folder of cleaned indicator time series data. It's a little cumbersome but I'm making some progress.
• Could AI help with this in some way?
