Remove Item Links from Exhibit layouts?

Hello,

I'm trying to remove all item links from exhibit layouts so that a thumbnail appears for an item, but it is not clickable. I found the following from 5 years ago, but the same fix does not apply to the current version of ExhibitBuilder. Is there another way I can do this?
