10/28/25 Software Announcement

HHH recap

Last Sunday marked the start of offseason B with our performance at the offseason event: Half Hollow Hills.

The competition was really great and I was pretty happy with all log reports. I know that towards the end a lot of people didn't get to do much since we were out for a couple of matches, but rest assured that the role will come with more to do in future events.

During the competitions we only had one major issue: our swerve's bearing exploded during qual 14, resulting in pieces locking the swerve gearing. This caused one of the drive motors of our swerve to overheat and brick. Consequently, we had to run through the match with one drive motor completely disabled and coasting, which hindered our ability to defend and resist defense. That being said, we were quickly able to identify the issue and fix it before playoffs thanks to our amazing pit crew.

In playoffs, we were able to make it to match 10 as captain of Alliance 8 (with teams 358 and 8267).

Offseason B Software Schedule

January is approaching fast, so we need to start accelerating our training and on-boarding process. Over the next few weeks, the software meetings will be focusing on getting through the basics of subsystems fast so we can start working on our final revision of the 2025-competition-robot codebase. I will be assigning each member different tasks for the revision to help with learning our basic GitHub workflows and subsystem programming.

It also seems that the next two Tuesdays will be a holiday. I wanted to hold an extra virtual meeting on both of these.

Here is an overview of the schedule that I have in mind:

I just realized that I put the unconfirmed date on the schedule, I'm really sorry about that! Mr. Flaiz said he was going to ask if you'd be able to come in on the 18th or a later date. We would really appreciate your input for our revision if you're available!
