Describe the bug
After doing fresh install of Ventura using the HaC installer, I get "A bootable device has not been detected" even when using a USB stick with an EFI that is known to work on this NUC or other hackintosh.

Expected behavior
I know the target drive has no EFI yet, but USB drives with EFI known to work not recognized.

Environment:

• Target drive OSX version: n/a
• HaC Mini installer version: the latest one

When I start via the Power Button Menu (holding down power button until it turns yellow),
and select "[F4] BIOS Recovery", I get this error message:

"BIOS has detected unsuccessful POST attempt(s).
Possible cuases include recent changes to BIOS
Performance Options or recent hardware change.
Press 'Y' to enter Setup or 'N' to cancel and attempt
to boot with previous settings."

However, I haven't made any changes to BIOS Performance Options (other than resetting BIOS to factory except for Secure Boot) nor hardware changes.

You created an installer usb and booted from that usb to install Ventura?

Use this to boot until you installed opencore on your system ssd.

Why would you use the power button menu?

Press F10 and select to boot opencore or F2 to enter BIOS and change the boot order to boot from your usb first.

I get the error "A bootable device has not been detected" even when using the original installer USB.

When I try to boot via F10, I can see "open core" as the only option, but I can't select it. Same when I go via F2. So it feels like Secure Boot is enabled, but I checked that it isn't. I checked that Secure Boot hasn't been enabled, as that seemed a likely culprit. I also refreshed the BIOS, but that didn't solve the problem either.

You booted from the patched installer USB and installed Ventura just fine? Your Hardware is a NUC8i7HxK. The BIOS settings are the ones from the HaC Mini installation guide.

Is this all correct?

Yes, all correct. All worked fine until I tried to warm (or cold) boot using the USB EFI created by the HaC Mini installer. Or any EFI, for that matter.

I can still only guess since the information you are providing is incomplete.

I would suggest pulling the SSD. If the USB booted before, it should boot again then and you can use it to clear the NVRAM.

I got this when using a different USB port; try a few. The front two 10Gbps USB ports run on a different controller than the yellow port.
