On the subject of the X-axis direction, I want to start a list of benefits for each side.
Descending order (current)
- The "interesting" (recent) numbers are close to the rest of the info on the page, so you don't flick your eyes as far to the right to see new data.
- PC.io does it this way
Ascending order
- This is the normal direction of charts
- If we want a no-axis-label mini chart sometime in the future like NPM, this is the only option
Conclusions
There's not really a best answer here. Either way violates the Principle of Least Surprise for some users, whether it's people used to PC.io or *cough* everyone else in the world.
I had been slightly on the side of status quo, but I'm now slightly on the side of ascending order.
