I’ve got a self hosted (on EU servers) version of Matomo running that I use on some personal projects. It’s set up to work without cookies, without tracking, it anonymizes referrers and IP addresses. Meaning it’s GDPR compliant with just a mention and an opt-out somewhere on the site (logical place would be on the about page). I was thinking we could run that, perhaps just for a couple of months, to get some insight into how often the site’s visited and where from. I can add the site to the Matomo instance I already have, so there are no costs involved. The domain for that instance is stats.koenlageveen.nl, which might raise some eyebrows, but it’s easy enough to figure out that that’s me.
