Exclude the quotes from alphabetical ordering

I noted that in search results for the OTUs (and probably anything else), the alphabetical ordering of results puts all things in "quotes" before things without quotes. I guess " comes before A!

Is there a way to exclude the quotes from the alphabetizing? The reason being that it can lead to confusion or double-entry of OTUs if, for example "Ampelosis" acerifolia and Ampelosis acerifolia do not appear together in search lists.
