max allowed packet

might be nice to set max allowed packet to the maximum (or a configurable value)
it is a command line option to mysqldump and mysql commands
mysqldump --max_allowed_packet=1024M

another nice to have, if you are making an update, would be to have the Pipe::Basic and subclasses be a little more verbose when Pipe::Basic.perform(command) fails. As it stands its really hard to identify which command fails if you are iterating throught several of them. I ended up using backtick (Kernel#`) to get the output and exit status, (although the output was empty ... ).

to debug his I ended up replacing

    out = Lynx.append(options[:file]).clear
    commands.each{ |c| out.perform(c) }

with something like

  commands.each do |c| 
    output = `#{c} >> #{file} 2>&1` 

    unless $?.success?
      puts "\n\nCommand : #{c}"
      puts "Output : #{output}"
      puts "Exit Status : #{$?.exitstatus}"
  end

where the commands were Command::Dump instances

note: from what I read there are some security implications with using backtick, because it doesn't sanitize input.
