Old error cU16_HELP(par) is back?

Hi Piers,

I downloaded the latest NWRFCSDK (nwrfc750P_5-70002752.zip), and when running perl -MCPAN -e "install sapnwrfc" I get into an old error:

This occurs on a host with Centos 7.7, perl 5.16.3. What can I do to get this perl module installed?

Hi Werner,
I don't have access to download the latest NWRFCSDK so cannot recreate the problem you are seeing.
Are you able to rollback to a version that does work, and then do a comparison between the new and old header files to see what has changed - for instance in sapuc.h?

Hi Piers, in contrast to my expectations, "notest install sapnwrfc" works ("/usr/bin/make install -- OK") on the CentOS host, when done with the NW RFC SDK from 2016. A test on my local working place got a compilation without errors with the latest SDK. So it might be a problem of gcc (in CentOS, I have "gcc (GCC) 4.8.5 20150623 (Red Hat 4.8.5-39)", on openSUSE Leap it is "gcc (SUSE Linux) 7.5.0"). I attach a "tar czf"-file containing the four diff files between 2016 SDK (720v40) and the current one (750v5). Thank you for looking into this! Regards, Werner

Hi -
It's hard to tell what changes might have impacted on this. I wonder if SAPonLIN needs to be defined. I think this could be added to PKG_CPPFLAGS for RSAP in configure.ac eg: -DSAPonLIN . but it is confusing as you seem to be talking about Perl - so I think you could do perl Makefile.PL CCFLAGS=" -DSAPwithUNICODE -DSAPonUNIX -DSAPwithTHREADS -DSAPonLIN".
