@KujawskiSzymon Thanks for the answer I'm working on a formula D online myself on Construct 3,, I don't have experience with java but I tried to read the code and was able to see the risk that is calculated to every dice
this a simple function that I created to select gear on seudocode based on my little understanding of pjsavola implementation

BeginnerAI, AmateurAI and ProAI are just three separate attempts I had when trying to write AI for this game. I decided to put them all to the game and order them based on how strong they seemed to be.

In general I'd recommend using the approach used for ProAI.

You need a function which evaluates how good a game state is. Inputs for this are node, HP, gear, laps remaining, stops remaining, minimum distance to next curve and maximum distance you can move without taking damage. Based on these inputs we give a score for each move. Then for gear selection you simply calculate what scores you can get for each possible outcome of that dice roll and make decisions based on that distribution. If you want to play safe you can pick gear with best worst score. If you want to take risk you can pick gear with best best score. Score for DNF is 0 and for finishing it's infinity.

Writing the evaluation function is not very simple as you need to anticipate future: how good is this gear for this board position? How will next moves look like? My AI doesn't look into future or anticipate opponent moves so it makes the decision ignoring those variables but you could take those into account if you want to improve it. ProAI does however check how long next straight is to evaluate how valuable doing final stop in a corner is - because if the following straight is very long it's good to finish corner on a high gear.

I was able to create an AI that complete a 5 laps track without gettting out an 80% of the time(enough), I follow my seudocode and added decelerate check.
Example on curitiba theres a long straigh without the decelerate check the AI will get into the 3stops corner with gear 6.

My goal with the AI is get it faster on every difficult but every AI need to be able to complete 3 laps without getting out.
I'm going to settle for this and in the future I will add difficulty levels

In case of bots coming with gear 6 - I think u can find in pro bot code how they try to fit just barely on corners, i think that amateur ai does it too
