Planet Decred identity

So what is Planet Decred?

There are two descriptions on the website:

• "a community ecosystem of builders"
• "A community managed open source project building infrastructure for the Decred blockchain"

which kind of explains it but not quite. Is it a community? A group? A project? A domain name? An infrastructure provider?

I suggest to try and define what PD is in a clear way. What it consists of (link to people and projects built by/operated by PD), what is the mission, and how it relates or overlaps with the Decred community and Decred contractor community. Think of the common "who we are" and "what we do" sections, and/or what are the distinguishing features of PD compared to the rest of Decred (e.g. "we are minimalists" or "we don't allow bloat at all" or "we only run Gentoo", etc).
