Investigate if we can adjust the local setup to work without hosts entries #745
Description
Context
Today there are 2 issues with our current local setup:
- the .local domain seems to lead to issues on Mac systems due it being a reserved TLD. Switch from .local to .test tld for examples kcp-dev/helm-charts#165 (comment)
- Also we need a number of entires in /etc/hosts to run the portal locally.
Investigation
- try to find a solution that can work without hosts entries, for example by using localhost subdomains. Reach out to @ntnn regarding his experience doing something similar for the httpbin managed service provider installation.
Desired State
Be able to run the local setup without hosts entries and with improved performance on mac
