I could not figure out how to stop 8 bit workshop from frequently slowing down frame rate and also crashing with a website error on MacOS.

Seems to be an Apple Safari issue. FYI, if anyone else has this issue, I found a fix! If a Mac user installs Microsoft Edge browser for Mac, your software works great.
