ERROR: Unable to check group membership in Azure AD: Authentication_Unauthorized.

Recently started getting this error "ERROR: Unable to check group membership in Azure AD: Authentication_Unauthorized."
Starting on the WP site, user is briefly redirected to https://device.login.microsoftonline.com/ and are then put on the wp login page with the above error.

Login worked flawlessly for the past few years.

I created a new secret in azure and updated to that secret in WP, did not help.

Anyone else experience this?

We do have a similar if not exactly the same issue: AAD login worked fine until 8.4.2025. Since then we get the error you mentioned above.

I could not get a grip on whether this is an WP-Plugin Issue, or a AAD Issue.
We have not changed anything manually, allthough we do have Wordfence Plugin installed, wich might change sth. automatically.

Is there any solution yet?

well, i just realized we still have version 0.6a running, 0.7.0 is recent - i think we need to update ...

We have version 0.6.5. I do not see a way to update... In azure it's showing logins successful for anyone who tries so Im assuming the issue is with the verification from azure going back to the plugin.

I believe you have to do a manual install of the latester version from the main branch

Updating the plugin and removing and adding the group ID solved our issue. Thanks all.
