not working -- only noise #134

Hello,
i recieved the badge on CCC camp. i tried to use it at that time already, but could only recieve nose. two friends who were with me had the same problem. We were thinking its just because we dont have antenna.
i soldered SMA connector and added antenna this time. unfortunately i still have the same results.
no matter what frequency i tune it .... noise only. i have used 2.4GHz antenna expecting to see something on 2.4GHz range. i used 1m copper wire hoping to recieve FM radio ... but nothing, only noise (arround -55db)
are there some known issues, something i'm missing ?
and is there any place to discuss such things ? (this is probably not the best place ? is there any forum for rad1o badge users ? it would sure be nice to have it. )
