The Problem: The NoneType error occurs because the metadata reader fails on filenames with "Windows-style" characters (apostrophes, parentheses).

Goal is to get UltraStar working better with less error on Linux. Over the years I have always got it to work but it has been a struggle. This is the first time on Linux I also notice that it takes parts from various sources. It can do so much more for other projects. I will add code when I think of things that is useful.

While setting up UltraSinger on an HP EliteDesk (4-Core) using a Python 3.10 "Sweet Spot", I encountered a common but disruptive issue: hidden Windows carriage return characters (\r) creeping into scripts and configuration files when moving code between platforms.

Can take a few different audio files and keeping the meta tags but strip the album art. Reduce BMP to 128KB reducing file size for portability Unless you have really good speakers you won't hear the difference.
Option are single file, full folder, and recursive folder.

Using Gemini 3 fast mode.
Back up a copy that works.
Few times tring to make something work or add to. It forgets my specific environment.
I paste the code that didn't work. Then it would apologize. I forgot the command isn't after 3.10 here is your newest code. It has also fix the code at one part but then breaks it at a different place. It is more accurate then hiring someone and is more patient. It does make mistakes. Just keep giving back the error codes. Eventually get it right.

Also be careful not to get off subject, use a different chat. I missed place a drawstring bag and for 3 hours it was giving me helpful hints.

The interesting thing is I said I felt like Doctor Frankenstein. Taking old parts and new parts. I'm now Doctor The code is a patient. Now the .venv is Operating Room and Now I have a Monitor.

For a week now has been odd. network drop now and then and for long periods of time I lose IP4 but have IP 6. For my .venv I have a wheelhouse and a screen for what the computer is doing. The code is made by me for me.You will need to modify it for your purposes. Using Linux Mint. Python 3.10 CPU only. Had confirmation that it is the most stable getting an old code using newer A.I model.
