"Export Trees..." not working on macOS

Hello. I've just recently noticed that I am no longer able to export trees. After selecting the format (e.g. nexus, newick) and clicking "OK", nothing happens. Before when it was working, once I click "OK" a file explorer/finder window would pop up so I can select a destination and name for the file. Has anyone run into this and found a solve? I am able to "Save As..." and "Export PDF/PNG/etc..." - only Export Trees is failing. Thanks!

i had the same issue on 'MAC M2 Ventura 13.4' with openjdk version "21.0.7" 2025-04-15 LTS. So wired..

I am unable to replicate this - were there any further steps before exporting?

Yes, during that time I was rerooting, coloring different clades, and then selected a node to copy and paste into a new window (using cmd+c, cmd+n, cmd+v) that I then was trying to export. However, I experience the same issue with raw trees (made with either RAxML or IQ-TREE) that I've made no modifications to within the software.

If you have copied and pasted into a new window, you may need to Save the tree file first (before using any of the Export options). I will leave this as a bug issue but let me know if that is a work-around.

I just opened a .tree file and then clicked export trees. After "OK", the output window doesn't pop up (for NEXUS and NEWICK).

Same here! Some months ago, it was working, but now it isn't.

@rambaut - updating thread to add that for me, saving the new window containing the copied and pasted content does not work as a work around. I am able to save the new window just fine, but export trees on that saved file still goes nowhere. thanks!
