Improved export configuration and exception managment #260
Description
We're in the process of implementing a number of updates around how export policies are defined and exception requests are handled.
Much of this will involve significantly improved user interfaces to avoid confusion both for 1) admins when configuring export policies; and 2) user when requesting approval for exports to specific environments.
The following new functionality will also be introduced:
- Ability to define allowlisted domains for notebooks using restricted data. E.g., you may want to prevent most external internet access, but then allow researchers to interface with specific external APIs.
- Ability to configure export acknowledgement prompts before download, to remind users of any policies before download export-restricted data.
- Ability to explicitly define allowed AWS S3 buckets for export approval.
