Allow specifying a .SQZ file, and if so extract it to a temp directory, and copy that to the Sqlite database next to the .SQZ file.

Have you seen @sam-m888 's addon for Gramps that does this (takes a SQZ file and extract it ) already? Otherwise it looks like he has abandoned the effort of an importer for Gramps, am I right Sam? You will have to write your own as Sam released his code under GPL 2.0 so it can be used with Gramps.

I may look at that if I need help, but since SQZ files are just ZIP archives with a different extension, it shouldn't be hard to just:

1. Detect the extension to be SQZ
2. Unzip the file into a temporary directory (I assume there is a module that understands .ZIP files)
3. Process that version, putting the results back where the.SQZ file was (having the project converter layer take a name for the result)
4. Remove the temporary directory..

I suspect most of the addon would be to reinterpret the TMG database and reformat it into the data model for Gramps

I might review the dbf module to see if it is a better interface. It looks to have been updated more recently, but it also is listed as still 'Beta', and using a module that doesn't intend to be able to write to the database may be a bit safer.

@richard-damon Correct, eg the hard part is knowing where to place the data in Gramps that has the same meaning from TMG!

FYI decided to use Ethan Furman's (dbf module) as I had intended to be able to export from Gramps a limited subset of my Family tree to TMG SQZ, so I could use the TMG charts etc.
