Should we tag a release?

So I originally planned to only do a release when I fully implement streaming for vimpager.

Unfortunately I ended up moving to another city and life has been very difficult (that's a huge understatement) and also got involved in some other things because this repo has been quiet.

So perhaps we should do a push to make a new minor release, fix at least #206 and clear the PR backlog, what do you think?

backlog: I will rebase #196 now (that's a "as much as you want")
#206: If we find a way to do it that doesn't take to long/much work (like until now ;)

I've been looking forward to updating the FreeBSD port! I definitely encourage you to cut a release.

We could also release several small releases and not wait any longer until doing 2.07 (and mybe call it 2.7) and then just do the stuff you mentioned quicly none the less and release it as 2.8, 2.9, 2.10, ...

(What is wrong with having many small releases?)

@lucc yeah, what can I say, I had grandiose plans that didn't quite work out.

Nothing quite special in a number, 2.7 is fine, and then we can do 3.0 when streaming is done and tested.

Ok, so what is the minimal work needed for releasing 2.7? Just the tag?

Also: I rebased my open PRs and fixed the tests.

@lucc ok so, I'm just wrapping up the last bug for another project I'm looking at:

visualboyadvance-m/visualboyadvance-m#72

I should be done with this either today or over 2-3 days or so.

Then I'll give vimpager most of my attention for a few weeks so we can get a release out and plan to finish streaming support so that a fully functioning version can be released.

I remember you did maintain a fork of the AnsiEsc plugin and we have some changes in here as well. Did you ever try to commit these changes upstream?

@lucc oh yes, I did quite a lot of work on that. This is the upstream for all intents and purposes:

it's probably a few commits ahead of our copy and we should update our copy.

I promised to do more work on it too, unfortunately haven't gotten around to it.

I believe @powerman is in contact with DrChip for the purposes of sending patches, but I don't know for sure.

Would a new release be possible at this time? I'm installing it from AUR on Archlinux https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/vimpager-git/ but it's using the latest release which git says is 344 commits behind master. Getting to use a more recent version would be great :)
