Unable to load jpeg images to website since before #626

Hi Rosell. Please keep in mind I am a very basic website operator. All I do is load new products occasionally to my website.

Just prior to Christmas I decided to add some new products to my website. As always I attempted to add low res jpeg images. See screenshot with the error message in the top right corner. This would indicate I am trying to upload a large file. But this is not the case. This image was actually 44 KB.

There had been no new programming or work done to the website. So I can only assume a wordpress update has caused the issue?

The only way I have been able to work around this issue, is to deactivate WebP Express. I then upload the jpeg images with no problem. Then I re-activate WebP Express and the front end of the website works as per normal with the images converted to webp files.

If I don't re-activate WebP Express I start getting 404 errors. I even got a 500 error and then the website finally crashed completely.

I had to get Hostgator to re-load the website to a prior date to get it up running again. I have since figured the work around as explained above.

Is there a way this can be fixed so I don't need to deactivate, then re-activate each time I want to upload new images?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks Joel
