At the moment, the metrics service does not associate an attribute with the metrics to indicate the property that the metric is expected to quantify. For instance, the line churn metric is quantifies the amount of change, so amount of change or, simply, change can be the attribute that line churn quantifies.
The need for associating an attribute with metrics is made necessary by #46.
